How app permissions work

When you install an app from the SecureBin App Store, it may request access to specific parts of your vault — such as reading files, creating folders, or posting activity. You choose exactly which permissions to grant, and apps cannot access anything beyond what you approve.

Reviewing permissions before installing

On each app's detail page in the App Store, you'll see a list of the permissions it requests. Review these carefully before installing. If an app requests more access than seems necessary for its purpose, consider whether you want to proceed.

Managing installed app permissions

  1. Go to Account > My Apps.
  2. Select the app you want to review.
  3. Click Manage Permissions to see what the app currently has access to.
  4. Toggle individual permissions on or off, or remove the app entirely.

Revoking an app's access

You can revoke an app's access at any time without uninstalling it. From the app's settings page, click Revoke Access. The app will no longer be able to interact with your vault until you re-authorize it.

Note: Revoking access does not delete any data the app previously created or stored in your vault. You'll need to remove those files manually if needed.
